doughnuts

There are only two reasons you will ever find canned biscuits in our house!  When I was 7 years old, my aunt Martha taught me the trick to making tasty doughnuts.  The adorable biscuit dogs came from many boat crusies on Lake Lure as a child with my Mom.  This 4th of July, I passed the recipe on to my girls.  For dessert, we fried "doughnut biscuits" and tossed them in patriotic sprinkles.  Later that night, we gathered around the campfire for biscuit dogs and plenty of storytelling.  I cooked the biscuit dogs earlier that day, and wrapped 2 biscuit dogs per foil packet.  We set the biscuit dogs by the fire to reheat and then served with ketchup and mustard.  Campfire in Charleston you ask?  Not this month!  I'm lucky enough to be married to man who hails from beautiful Victor, Idaho.  Every summer we spend a month in Victor hiking, biking and enjoying the Tetons.  We get to experience the wild west (including a bear sighting), see all of our family, and beat the Charleston heat.
